In various-step manufacturing processes it is hard to evaluate the production time for each stage, particularly if certain stages require human intervention. Our solution based on RFID identification provides support in handling this problem by fixing a RFID identifier on the starting component in the first step of the manufacturing process. Following this action, reading of the RFID identifier in all stages makes available the following services:

• Fixing cycle time for each stages and making it comparable among certain production lines
• Continuous monitoring of manufacturing cycle time and forwarding feedback for planning
• Tracking the use of components, which indicates constantly the decrease in stocks towards sourcing
• All manufacturing parameter remain retrievable, among others data of building-in components. Accordingly, in case of further quality objections all affected products can be specified easily.
